Brass Samai by Shantaram Shinde

About the handicraft:

"Samai" Traditional Ornate brass lamp depicting a tree with its spreading branches is unique to Goa.
The end of each branch has a five wick oil lamp. This beautifully crafted piece is a symbol that
goes beyond the value of the metal itself.


About the artist:

Mr Shinde has been working in metal crafts for the last 40 years. He has his own metal craft workshop
at Mapusa in which he produce various metal handicrafts such as Samais, Divlis etc.
